Lime Valve Sleeve Material

2010-11-18

I have a 25mm (1") pinch valve on a lime slurry (milk of lime) pnematically actuated with a full-on, full-off operation. The problem is the pinch needle valve sleeve is being corroded to quickly and spliting too soon.
I'm trying to extend the life of the sleeve.
I'm not exactly sure what it's made of but it says something about it being made of 'Nitrile'....?
Research into the best material and design of the sleeve?
Pure Gum Rubber (PGR) and Polyurethane are frequently offered for abrasive services.  Nitrile is also commonly known as Buna-N and is generally applicable with OK abrasion resistance and good resistance to VOCs, and it's inexpensive, too.  Butyl rubber would also be worth looking at, since it is pretty abrasion-resistant when used in tires.
