 I've used PBV ball valves from Zytec Global and it has links to worldwide services) for many years and I've been very satisfied with the product.  
If it is PBV and your friend is in Europe it is more likely to be "Pibiviesse" in Italy. This was the Original "PBV" valve. Zydell (Zytec) were their distributor many moons ago but there was some kind of dispute over the use of the name and PBV (the Italian Co) became Pibiviesse whilst Zydell continued with the PBV name.
