three way ball valve in pipe
A Ball Valve is one of the less expensive valve configurations and features low
maintenance costs. Three Way Ball Valve are
undoubtedly quite compact and hardly require lubricants thereby providing low
torque. A valve is mostly used to manage the flow of fluids that includes
liquids, solids, gases or even slurries and these kinds of valves are idea for
shutoff applications.
1 Target a straight straight stretch of pipe;
otherwise, you cannot properly install the valve. Measure a 1 1/4 inch space for
API Forged Steel Ball
Valve placement.
2 Cut out the measured space using wire cutters.
Position the cutting edge onto the pipe and spin the cutter all the way around
the pipe. Repeat this action on the opposite end of the measured space to
completely remove this section of pipe.
3 Scrub the two openings with a
copper cleaning brush. Apply liquid flux around the outside of the two openings,
using the supplied brush.
4 Place the ball valve into the open position. Put
the valve onto the two openings of copper pipe.
5 Aim a torch at one of the
seams between the valve and pipe. Stretch out a piece of solder. Place the tip
of the solder onto the seam. Lightly move the tip of the solder along the seam
while aiming the torch. Continue around the entire seam until it is sealed.
Repeat this with the seam on the other side of the valve.
6 Wipe off the
seams with a paper towel to remove any extra flux. Wait until the valve and pipe
have cooled down before performing this step.
