Actuator side loading.

Currently we have a MASONEILAN model 2650 split body control valve that is mounted at a 45degree angle due to the size of the actuator. over the time this ball valve has been shopped several times. This happened due to the weight of the actuator there is extreme pressure on the shaft and bushings. We can't straighten the vertically due to piping issues. Is there any solution for this side loading.
Design an external support for the actuator so that its weight is not transmitted to the valve.  Ugly, but better than having a valve stick.
Padding inside the actuator will not help.  You need to take the bending load off the bushings.  That's why sircrashalot was exactly correct in suggesting an external brace.  Tie it to the line flanges-not to an external point.  That way if the pipe shifts (thermal growth, water hammer) it won't be causing new forces to be applied to the valve.
