Choke Valves
The software programs I've found assume the user has a certain level of knowledge. I need a primer or tutorial of some sort.
Choke valves are generally sized in the same way as control valves. This is usually done using sizing software that is specific to the manufacturer. The parameters that go into the program are fairly complex depending on the complexity of the process requirements. I have been working with choke valves and control valves for 15 years and find that the best option is to get accurate field data and give it to the manufacturer to run the various cases. The software flags if there is a high noise situation or if the valve is cavitating.
While it’s good to have an understanding of the principles of valve sizing, the best results are going to come from the manufactures recommendations.
