Gas Blowby case
Trying to calculate the gas blowby case flowrate from high pressure separator to low pressure separator. I am wondering if I can use the max Cv of the liquid level control valve.
The Cv by definition is the related to the flow rate of water at 1 psi pressure drop. In gas blowby case we try to find the gas flow rate. By this definition of Cv, Is it applicable to gas flow calculation?
Cv is related to volumetric flow and dp, then by using a different formulation (to consider gas expansion effects) and proper density you can use CV to calculate the gas flow through the valve (see Masonelian, ISA etc. formulations), however in addition to gas properties there are several parameters as valve plug form etc. which should be considered to obtain a good estimate...
