The difference between soft sealed ball valves and hard sealed ball valves

Soft seal refers to a sealing pair with metal materials on one side and elastic non-metallic materials such as PTFE on the other side. This type of seal has good sealing performance, but is not resistant to high temperatures, the sealing surface is prone to wear, and the mechanical properties are poor. Hard seal refers to a situation where both sides of the sealing pair are made of metal or other harder materials, known as a "hard seal". This type of seal has poor sealing performance, but it is resistant to high temperatures, wear-resistant sealing surfaces, and has good mechanical properties. The main Ball valve product names of China Ball valve Network include:Electric Vacuum Ball Valve,External Thread Ball Valve, Butt Welded Ball Valve,Manual Wafer Ball Valve With Feedback Signal,Flange Ammonia Ball Valve,Flange Copper Ball Valve,Flange Fluorine-lined Ball Valve

The soft sealed valve seat is made of non-metallic materials with certain strength, hardness, and temperature resistance. It has good sealing performance and can achieve zero leakage, but its lifespan and adaptability to temperature are relatively poor. Hard seals are made of metal, and their sealing performance is relatively poor compared to soft seals. Soft sealing cannot meet the process requirements for some hard materials, while hard sealing can solve the problem. These two types of seals can complement each other. In terms of sealing performance, soft seals are relatively better, but now the sealing performance of hard seals can also meet various corresponding requirements.

The advantage of soft sealing is good sealing performance, but the disadvantage is easy aging, wear, and short service life. Hard seals have a long service life, but their sealing performance is relatively inferior to soft seals.

The main structural differences between soft seals and hard seals are as follows:

1. Temperature resistance: Soft sealing is used in normal temperature environments. Hard seals can be used in environments such as low temperature, room temperature, and high temperature.

2. Pressure: Soft seal low-pressure normal pressure, hard seal can also be used in medium high pressure and other working conditions.
